STAR COMPANY
Star Company was founded in 1994-95, though formerly known as “Les Etoiles”, which in French translates to “The Stars”.
Star Company is a performing group made up of serious dancers who wish to polish their skills through class work, performance and competition. They get to perform at various events and compete at local County Fairs, Scholarship Competitions and Dance Conventions. They’ve even had several opportunities to travel to Europe to perform all over Germany, Austria and even Disneyland Paris!

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
Members must be in the 6th Grade or above, Students of Blackwood Studios, and enrolled in at least three technique classes per week. Members will also be required to attend weekly Company Classes and Rehearsals. Members must also maintain their attendance in all of their classes. To become a member of the Concert Company you must be enrolled in all styles of dance.
AUDITIONS:
Students are required to audition in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Acrobatics. There will also be an audition en Pointe but ONLY if you take Pointe classes. It is not required to audition en Pointe but highly recommended if you currently take that class. It’s just extra credit!
AUDITION DRESS CODE:
Girls: Hair in a bun, Black Leotard, Pink Tights
Boys: Black Dance Pants, Solid Colored Shirt, Hair out of your Eyes
