Bravo! Florida Dance Masters!

Twenty-three students attended the Florida Dance Masters’ Convention in Orlando over Thanksgiving weekend. The students were: Arabella Smoak, Addison Ashmore, Adelynn Erickson, Cadence Brown, Audrey Sachs, Emily Crew, Savannah Nelson, Samantha Cook, Kennedy Kring, Ava Burns, Jasmine Crew, Maelee Scaglione, Brooke Tudor, Maris Willers, Naomi Lopez, Zeke Richards, Alynza McBride, Brielle Cowell, Mia Poe, Gavin Crew, Vitoria Nelson, Anna Hutchinson, and Isabel Geskey.

Friday afternoon, Cadence Brown, Audrey Sachs, and Adelynn Erickson competed in the Mini Miss Dance Competition. Adelynn Erickson was awarded 1st Runner-up! Emily Crew, Savanna Nelson, Samantha Cook, Brielle Cowell, Mia Poe and Kennedy Kring participated in the Junior Miss Dance Competition. Savanna Nelson was named a Top 10 Finalist. Naomi Lopez, Vitoria Nelson, and Maelee Scaglione participated in the Teen Miss Dance Solo Competition. Naomi Lopez received the “Contestant’s Award”. In the Senior Miss Dance Competition, Jasmine Crew and Brooke Tudor performed beautifully! Jasmine Crew received the “Contestant’s Award”. Ezekiel Richards performed to give up his title as Senior Mr. Dance 2022. We are so proud of all our soloists! They were truly amazing!

Friday evening, Star Company and Little Stars members performed “Dracula”, “Papa 0om Mow Mow”, “Hot Wings” and “Joy” in the Royal Dance Festival. They were great! Lots of fun!

Saturday night at the convention was the formal Thanksgiving Gala. Dancers, teachers and parents came together to celebrate 37 years of Florida Dance Masters. This year, FDM was able to award over $11,450.00 through its unique scholarship program. We are very proud to announce that Brooke Tudor was awarded a Ballet Honorable Mention, Vitoria Nelson an Acrobatics Honorable Mention, and Maelee Scaglione received a Modern Honorable Mention. Jasmine Crew was awarded the “Acro for Life” Acrobatics Scholarship. Naomi Lopez received the Woody Blackwood Memorial Acrobatics Scholarship. Anna Hutchinson won the “Miss Patti” Memorial Jazz Scholarship.

Each day, all dancers participated in classes by Master Teachers in Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Latin Ballroom, and Hip Hop. It was a blast! We are very proud of all of our students! Your hard work is really paying off! To all who participated in any facet of this weekend-Thank you! We know you learned a lot! We did, too!
